Anyone here know if it's possible to make Kumiss from cow's milk?
I'd like to try to homebrew it...

Had Alexandria triumphed and not Rome, the extravagant and muddled stories that I have summarized here would be coherent, majestic, and perfectly ordinary.

I'm a brewer; I made kumiss once.

Mare's milk is a lot thinner than cow's milk. I used skim milk so
as to get a closer approximation. It was very easy to make: a
sterile glass bottle, a quart of skim milk, and some yeast. After
a couple of days of fermenting, it was actually quite drinkable.
A couple of days later, it was totally soured.

So it can be done. Poke around the net and you will find some more
write-ups. Good luck.
