Also, are these Turkic speakers indigenous to Mongolia, or are they
recent migrants (within 100 years or so)? I'm only interested in the
indigenous speakers of Turkic in Mongolia.

I'm extremely interested in the Mongolian and Turkic history.

a very small minority.

much of current mongolia was turkic in the first millenium.

there are more just north, some of whom had broken away from
mongolia to join russia (Tannu Tuva) during the early 20th cent.

these and their neighbors, the Altai and Khakas ("original" Kirghiz) in
Southern Siberia (Russia) are turkic groups that stayed more or less in
their original homeland. they retained archaic characteristics of
language, esp. lack of change of old turkic /*dh*/ to [y] (merging with
/y/), and not being islamized.

foprmed a nominally independent republic that is known to most for the
colorful stamps it issued. c. WWII or just after it became part of the
Russian Federative Republic of the Soviet Union and remains part of
Russia (within the federation, with a republic of its own).

What are you after now, Roman?

More ammunition?

Didn't know you were following in the footsteps of Dorian West, the
self-confessed and "proud of it" Greek racist!
